The Union Square Farmers Market opened for the 2013 season last Saturday. It was a steamy morning, but that didn’t stop the crowds from scooping up early season vegetables, starter plants, cut flowers, kombucha, wine, baked goods, bread, meat, eggs, cheese and more. With live entertainment from local bands and activities for kids like face painting, it’s easy to make a morning of a shopping trip.
The market runs every Saturday in the Union Square Plaza from now through November 23 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Here’s a glimpse at what opening day looked like.
