Seasonal Sips: St. George’s Dragon

Meaghan Sinclair and Harmony Dawn, the women behind Booze Époque, a Somerville-based boutique cocktail company, are all about handcrafting beautiful and delicious drinks for their clients. And each month they write a seasonally appropriate recipe for Beat readers.

This month’s drink comes to us straight from Lake St. George Campground in Liberty, Maine, where Sinclair has been whipping up cocktails with local ingredients.

St. George’s Dragon

St. George's Dragon Inside2 ounces Rusticator Rum
½ ounce Bartlett Apple Brandy
¼ ounce local honey
¼ ounce local maple syrup
1 teaspoon butter
1/12 bar of chocolate
Toasted marshmallow

Mix all ingredients except marshmallows in a metal pot. Allow chocolate and butter to melt over the fire. Stir until ingredients are combined. Meanwhile, toast marshmallows over the fire. Add them to the drink. Enjoy!

P.S. In addition to catering events, Booze Époque is hosting Creating Signature Cocktail classes at its home base, Kitchen Inc. (201 Somerville Ave.). The classes are tomorrow, August 22, and on September 26 from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. and cost $65.
