How would you like to try cuisines from five different continents without ever leaving Somerville? You can do just that at next week’s East Broadway Foodie Crawl, where attendees will sample fare at 12 of Somerville’s best international restaurants.
The Foodie Crawl was supposed to take place today, but was moved to next Tuesday (September 25) due to forecasted rain. This is great news for those who haven’t bought tickets yet, as you still have another week to snap them up!
As the Crawl winds it way up East Somerville’s main food corridor, attendees will have the opportunity to taste dishes from places like Ethiopia, Brazil, Mexico, Haiti and El Salvador. There will even be vegetarian options available at each of the 12 locations. Participating restaurants include: Mount Vernon, Blessing Caribbean, Vinny’s, Tapatio, Fasika, Gauchao, Casey’s, Los Paisanos, Maya Sol, Taqueria Montecristo, Ola Gifts Cafe and Taco Loco. And if that’s not enough, the Foodie Crawl ends at three after parties featuring live music and desserts from Patsy’s Pastry and Boston Cookies.
The Foodie Crawl kicks off at 6 p.m. (check-in starts at 5:45 p.m. at Mudflat Studios and Louie’s Ice Cream), the after parties start at 8 p.m. and last until 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 for kids under 12, $10 for high school students with an ID, $15 for college/graduate students with an ID, $20 ($25 at the door) for general admission and $65 for a group of four.
Last year’s event sold out with 1,200 attendees, so don’t delay in buying tickets if you want to taste your way around the world without ever leaving town.
