There are few things in life better than having fun while supporting a good cause. And Somerville Local First is giving you the chance to do just that next month at In the Air Tonight, an ’80s-themed prom to benefit the organization. This is your chance to re-live or re-imagine your prom–and this time, there are tasty cocktails!
In the Air Tonight takes place on June 21 from 8 p.m.-midnight at the Greek Orthodox Church (29 Central St.). The event will feature ’80s-themed drinks designed by Daddy Jones, snacks provided by local tastemakers (like Food for the Band and Union Square Donuts) and an ’80s DJ spinning music all night long. In addition to a variety of contests and raffles with prizes from local merchants like Cuppow and Union Press, Somerville Local First will crown a Local King and Queen. And you can capture all the fun in the photo booth.
Somerville Local First’s Harvest Fest took over the Armory in October.
The prom promises to not only be a lot of fun, but it also supports Somerville Local First, which works to build a strong local economy that benefits the whole community. I recently joined the board of Somerville Local First and I’m excited to help at the first big event since becoming a more active member. I hope to see you all out there.
So don your best ’80s duds and get ready for a night to remember!
