Shop Locally to Show Mom How Much You Care

I can hardly think of a better way to show a special mom in your life that you care than by shopping locally for Mother’s Day this year. When you do, you’ll be supporting area businesses, which strengthens our local economy. And you’ll be getting a sweet present to boot!

Somerville Local First is giving you the opportunity to shop more than 30 local businesses under one roof at the Local is for Lovers Mother’s Day Market at Brooklyn Boulders Somerville (12A Tyler St.) this Sunday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Replenish Somerville Soapworks

As with all of the Local is for Lovers markets, the Mother’s Day one will play host to a variety of vendors. You can pick up handmade soaps from Somerville Soap Works, learn more about using nontoxic beauty, home and pet products from The Replenish Bar and sip a delicious beverage brewed by Black Magic Coffee. Other vendors will be selling everything from clothing and jewelry to food items and accessories.

In addition to all the local businesses selling their wares, the Bon Me food truck is making a special Somerville appearance. Live music at the Local is for Lovers Mother’s Day Market will be provided by David Tanklefsky and PA Trick and kids of all ages will be wowed by special guest Jenny the Juggler. And while you’re at the market, snap a new family portrait in the photo booth with Mike Barnes.
