Somerville is Home

Good morning Beat readers! I hope you all had a terrific weekend and were able to get out and enjoy many of the fun events that happened in Somerville during the last few days.

I didn’t get out much this weekend because I was busy doing something else–moving! Don’t worry, I didn’t go far, just across town. Most exciting of all? The house we moved into is ours! That’s right, I am now a Somerville homeowner.

As anyone trying to buy a house in the area right now knows, this process was a long and winding one, but in the end, we found the right home for us and couldn’t be happier with it. I’ve lived in Somerville for more than five years and I’m so glad that it’s going to be my home for many, many more.

But first, it’s time to unpack the dozens of boxes piled up around our new digs, find a place for all of our possessions (is it just me or does moving make everyone want to throw out everything they own?) and settle into our new home.

I’ll be back tomorrow and the rest of the week with regularly scheduled Beat content, so be sure to check back for some fun posts about yoga in Somerville, a new indoor rock climbing facility and more. And as always, thanks for reading!
