Meaghan Sinclair and Harmony Dawn, the women behind Booze Époque, a Somerville-based boutique cocktail company, are all about using delicious, high-quality ingredients in their drinks. They handcraft a lot of what goes into the cocktails and often tap local resources, like other small businesses, for inspiration and ingredients.
They’ve been working with Soluna Garden Farm from Winchester recently and wanted to create a special drink to highlight some of the farm’s unique products. For this cocktail, dubbed Matcha Made in Heaven, Sinclair and Dawn worked with Soluna’s coconut sugar and matcha powder to create a delightful, verdant tea cocktail. Cheers!
Matcha Made in Heaven
2 ounces Ice Glen Vodka
2 ounces organic sweetened condensed milk
2 teaspoons Soluna Garden Farm coconut sugar
½ teaspoon matcha powder
1 cup ice
½ ounce Żubrówka Bison Grass Vodka
1 tablespoon 1:1 coconut sugar/matcha mix
Blend vodka, sweetened condensed milk, coconut sugar, matcha powder and ice on high until smooth and creamy. Pour into glass. Add Żubrówka Bison Grass Vodka float. Dip the tip of the straw into the matcha and coconut sugar mixture. Serve.
