Show Your Irish Pride at Somerville St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations

St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner and I’ve got all the details on where to go if you’re looking to have a traditional boiled dinner, listen to some live music or grab a pint of Guinness. Bars and restaurants around Somerville are hosting special events in honor of the holiday, some lasting all weekend, so get ready to show your Irish pride! (And if you know of any celebrations that aren’t listed here, leave a comment and I’ll add them.)

March 17: Irish breakfast buffet from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Live music from the Ronan Quinn Band from 4 p.m.-7 p.m.

The Burren
247 Elm St.
March 15 and 16: Live music from the Fiddlers of Inishbofin, a group of Ireland’s finest musicians, at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets are $25 and the proceeds will be donated to breast cancer research.
March 17: Doors open at 9 a.m. for a day-long St. Patrick’s celebration featuring Irish music and food.

Daddy Jones
525 Medford St.
March 17: The Magoun Square bar will be serving Young’s Double Chocolate Stout with a scoop of green fluff!

The Indo

The Independent
75 Union Square
March 17: A special menu featuring the traditional boiled dinner as well as other St. Patrick’s Day inspired dishes will be available. The Quiet Man will showing all day and John Funke and friends will DJ from dinner time until close.
March 18: There’s no school in Somerville on Monday because of Evacuation Day and The Independent is celebrating by offering its full brunch menu from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Twenty-percent of the proceeds will be donated to the Healy School. You can make reservations by calling 617-440-6022.

Joshua Tree
256 Elm St.
March 17: Doors open at 10 a.m., an Irish menu will be available and DJ Mickriddleton will be playing Top 40 and Irish music all night.

Olde Magoun’s Saloon
518 Medford St.
March 15-17: St. Patrick’s Day menu featuring potato and leek soup, New England boiled dinner, Irish boiled bacon dinner, corned beef sandwiches and traditional shepherd’s pie.
March 16: Live music from Ronan Quinn from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. and from Barry & Carlton from 8 p.m. to close.
March 17: Live music from Ronan Quinn from noon-3 p.m.

March 17: St. Patrick’s Day menu (including full Irish breakfast) and live music from the Mike Nolan Irish Duo from 8 p.m.-11 p.m. (no cover).

70 Union Square
March 15: Hear Now Live presents “Shake it and leave it” with Skinny Cleveland, OTP, Herban Warfare, Delman Ryder and Slapback.
March 16: Live music from Three Day Threshold, Comanchero and Irish Lads.
March 17: Live music in the front bar at 4 p.m. from James Christensen and at 8 p.m. in the back bar from from Sea Monsters with special guests.

Sally O’Brien’s
355 Somerville Ave.
March 15: Early St. Patrick’s Day with live music from the Johnny Come Latelies at 6 p.m. and the Josiah Relbstein Brass Band at 9 p.m.
March 17: Food specials all day and live music from Tom Hagerty Irish Band at 3:30 p.m. There is a $5 cover charge.
