This Saturday, local beer enthusiasts will descend on the Armory on Highland Ave. to sample brews, wines, cordials and mead from regional producers. The Hyper-Local Craft Brew Tasting is set to highlight local brews and more made using local ingredients. Attendees will get to sample tastes from breweries based right here in town like Night Shift Brewing and Somerville Brewing Company, as well as those slightly further afield, like Blue Hills Brewery and Cape Ann Brewing Company, among many others.
During two sessions (either 3 p.m. or 7 p.m.) on June 16, local breweries and wineries will pour samples of their products at the Armory. The tasting aims to highlight beer and wine made with local ingredients like hops, wheat, fruit, chocolate and much more. In addition to lots of local wine and beer, Moonlight Meadery will be offering samples of its unique honey wine.
There will also be local food available (for $5) and bottled wine for purchase. Keeping in theme with the event, local musicians will provide live music. The tasting will raise funds for the Sustainable Business Network’s Boston Local Food Program.
I’m attending the second session on Saturday and can’t wait to try lots of great local brews! Hope to see you there.
